Sarojini Education and Voluntary Action Trust (SEVA) was established in 2005 as a non-profit, secular organization dedicated to alleviating poverty, reducing misery, and uplifting marginalized communities. SEVA focuses on supporting rural populations, particularly those striving to combat growing poverty in villages. The primary objective of the organization is to promote sustainable development practices that empower local rural communities, with a special emphasis on farmers and women. SEVA’s interventions are primarily concentrated in the taluks of Kodagu, Chamarajanagara, Ramanagara, Kanakapura, and Channapatna in Karnataka. To date, SEVA has supported 1,058 Self-Help Groups, facilitating financial linkages worth ₹68.78 crore with mainstream financial institutions to enable sustainable socio-economic activities. Additionally, in collaboration with NABARD, SEVA has successfully implemented watershed development programs in Kanakapura, Ramanagara, and Channapatna, benefiting 1,980 families.
